Chain Maille and Silver Classes

Wire Wrapping Classes with Eugenia Chan!

Our guest instructor, Euginia Chan will teach wire wrapping techniques in this awesome class. This workshop is a perfect complement to our bead making and chain maille classes.  It is a two-day workshop and we have two of them scheduled.  October 7-8 and October 9-10, 2010.  Cost is $400 for both days.  Please call us to register. $200 non-refundable deposit is required to register.

Day 1 - Bracelet.  This class is about the fundamental techinques in wire wrapping jewelry.  Students will learn how to use their tools properly, how to make perfect jump rings, eye pins, bead connectors, wrapped beads, caged beads, spirals and a lovely swan clasp.  In addition, techniques in hammering, filing and antiquing will be covered. When the bracelelt is linked together, students will be taught how to make dangles to embelish the bracelet which will then be oxydized with liver of sulfur solution and when compeletely dried, it will be polished with extra fine steel wool.  At the end of the day you will have a unique, one of a kind piece of jewelry to enjoy and to be proud of!

Day 2 - Necklace. This is an intermediate class which will begin with a brief revisions of the techiques learned in Day 1.  This class is packed with information and tips.  Students will learn different ways in making coils, who to twist wires, how to use coiled or twisted wire to make single or double  wrapped wire beads, plus some beautiful links to connect all the components together into a pretty necklace.  Techniques in hammering, filing and antiquing will be covered as well.

 We have CHAIN MAILLE classes!.  It  is a jewelry making technique that uses metal rings combined in intricate patterns to create stunning bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc. You can use it by itself, or incorporate your glass beads into it. Possibilities are endless. We now have several gorgeous techniqes scheduled, each gives you a different look.  All of them are a lot of fun, and the finished jewelry looks great.

PARALLEL CHAIN MAILLE CLASS

This is the easiest of the chain maille techniqes that we teach.  Learn how to work with jump rings and combine them into a pattern to create an elegant bracelet.

 

ORBITAL CHAIN MAILLE CLASS

This technique is slightly more complicated than the previous class.  Some previous chain maille experience is recommended.

 

BYZANTINE CHAIN MAILLE CLASS

This is the most complicated technique of the ones we teach.  Previous chaine maille experience is required for this class.This technique is slightly more complicated than the previous class.  Some previous chain maille experience is recommended.

 

SOLDERING JUMP RINGS CHAIN MAILLE CLASS

You will learn to make your own jump rings in this class, and then will solder them into a beautiful bracelet.  No previous chain maille experience is required.
